How do I reserve my event date with Sugar Rim Bar?

A non-refundable retainer is required at the time of the contract signing. The non-refundable retainer may be paid via Cash or PayPal.

Do you carry insurance?

Sugar Rim Bar maintains a $1 million liquor liability policy, which is as high as any policy in the DC Metro region. This allows Sugar Rim Bar to operate at the most exclusive of venues that remain off-limits to other catering companies.

Question 3

How will the bartenders be dressed?

The bartender(s) will be dressed according to the type of event you are having. We typically wear all black. We will discuss this with you at the time the event is booked.

Question 4

Who is responsible for making sure that guests do not have too much to drink?

Our bartenders are trained in alcohol awareness. However, the host of the event is ultimately responsible for all invited guests and their actions. Sugar Rim Bar reserves the right to refuse service to any guest(s) who seem to have had too much to drink, per our judgment.

Is gratuity included?

Tips are customary in the bartending business, so we offer two options: (1) allow a tip jar to be placed on the bar for guests, or (2) "Hosted Gratuity" — no tip jar, and the host pays a $3 per person gratuity fee based on the number of guests attending.

What type of payment do you accept?

Full payment or any balance owed is expected one week prior to the event. Staff will not perform any duties until full payment is received. We accept cash and credit cards; credit card payments may be made in advance securely through PayPal. A 15% late fee is added to any unpaid invoice.

Do I need to make a deposit?

Yes. A non-refundable retainer is required to reserve the date and time of your event. The minimum retainer is half or $100, whichever is greater. The retainer secures your date and is not refunded, but you may select another date up to 6 months after your original event date.

Do you provide the alcohol?

Yes. Alcohol "may" or "may not" be available based on each state, district and county guidelines and regulations.

Do you offer single invoicing?

Yes. As a full service beverage caterer, Sugar Rim Bar offers single-invoice billing on our consumption, cash or package bars — everything from your beverage order to glassware and linen rental, staffing and equipment can be included on a single invoice.

Is there a service minimum?

You can book our services with a minimum of 4 hours of service. We are available for all occasions.
